Donald L. Rath

RIVERSIDE ? Donald ?Coon? Lamont Rath, 94, of Riverside, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, in Pioneer Park in Lone Tree.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Riverside Public Cemetery with military honors provided by the Riverside VFW Post 6414. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m., Wednesday at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Riverside. Memorials may be directed to the Riverside First Responders or the Riverside VFW Post 6414.

Mr. Rath was born Jan. 14, 1922, in Washington County, the son of Theodore and Anna (Dvorak) Rath. He married Nita M. Wingler on Nov. 6, 1943, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He was a graduate of Riverside High School. He proudly served in the Marines during World War II. He retired from the VA Hospital in Iowa City. He was a member of the Riverside VFW Post 6414 and Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, coin collecting, and spending time with his family.

Surviving are one son, J. Dene Rath and wife Marsha of Riverside; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nita; one son, Errol Rath; one daughter, Karen Kaye Reilly; three brothers, Leo, Omer, and Harold; and one sister, Pearl Rummelhart.
