DONALD J. WISEMAN

Donald J. Wiseman, 81, of New London, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at the New London Specialty Care Center in New London.

Don was born July 15, 1940, in Wesley, Iowa, the son of James Roy and Sylvia (Schade) Wiseman. Don was united in marriage to Joan L. Johnston on Aug. 24, 1968, at Kahoka, Mo. Don started his working career at the New London Creamery as a butter maker, then he went to the Iowa Ammunition Plant in Middletown, then he went to work for the New London Farmers COOP, where he was in charge of the ordering and delivering of propane. B & B bought out the COOP propane department and he went to work for them for a combined 35 years of service.

He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, antiquing, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren and his dog Rocky. Don was a member of the Mount Pleasant Eagles Club.

Don is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan of New London; his children, Allen (Abby) Wiseman of Mount Union, Kevin Wiseman of Florida, Laura Wagner of Lowell, Barbara (Barry) Shipley of Burlington and Richard Haines of Des Moines; his grandchildren, Deklin, Gradyn, Brylee, Jennifer, Jason, Jeremy, Michelle, Shannon, Stephanie and Jamie; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Kenny Wiseman and Chuck Haines; 10 brothers and sisters; and his dog, Ringo.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday, April 25, at Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant, where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. that evening. Burial will be held in White Pidgeon Cemetery at North English at a later date.
