Donna S. Guy, 86, of Brighton, died Friday April 26, 2019, at Halcyon House in Washington. She was born April 6, 1933, in Walnut Township near Brighton to Roy Andrew and Wilma Elizabeth (Farmer) Duttweiler. She grew up in the Brighton area and graduated from Brighton High School in 1951. Donna married Kenneth E. Guy May 24, 1953, and he died December 10, 1994. Donna was a homemaker and multi-media artist, working with oil, watercolors, and porcelain. Donna was a member of several artists groups and clubs including: Iowa Watercolor Society; Past member and Board Of Director of Iowa Artists; Past President and member of the Iowa World Organization of China Painters (IWOCP); Professional Porcelains Artist and Teachers (PPAT); Professional Porcelain Artist Association (PPAA); International Porcelain Artists and Teachers (IPAT); and World Organization of China Painters (WOCP); and Prairie Painters among other local art organizations. Donna traveled extensively nationally and world-wide throughout Europe, Asia, and South America with other Porcelain Artists sharing and teaching art. She also was a member of the Brighton Methodist Church. Donna and her husband loved to dance and were members of the Walton Club, she also enjoyed camping, traveling (especially winter trips to Florida), boating and skiing, and caring for her pets.
She is survived by her children: Debra Ann (Dean) Greiner and Danny Joe (Cindy Watson) Guy both of Brighton, 4 grandchildren: Angela Greiner of Iowa City, Matt Greiner of Fairfield, Andy and Adam Guy both of Brighton and one great grandson, Clayton Greiner of Fairfield. Her parents and her husband preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday April 30, 2019, at the Brighton Community Church with Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Visitation will be 5:30 to 7 P.M. Monday evening also at the church. Memorials to the church may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 100-110th Street, Brighton, IA 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
