Donna M. Philips

      Donna M. Philips, 83, of Stockport, died at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 30, 2002, at her home.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4 at the Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Sue Babovec officiating. Burial will be in Dibble Cemetery southeast of Utica. Family visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the funeral home. Memorials have been established to Stockport First Responders or to the family.

      Mrs. Philips was born on Aug. 16, 1919, in Henry County, the daughter of Jessie and Grace Brombaugh Elmore. She married Donald G. "Tubby" Philips in Kahoka, Mo., on July 9, 1938, who preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 2000.

      She lived 51 years in her home. She was a homemaker and taught school. She baked cakes for weddings and other special events. She was a member of the Stockport United Methodist Church, Stockport American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Utica Women's Club.

      Survivors include four sons, Larry and his wife Peggy Philips of Fairfield, Gary "Butch" and his wife Sandra Philips, of Stockport, Terry Philips of Riverside, Arch and his wife Evelyn Philips of Hillsboro; and two daughters, Sheryl and her husband Fred Chapius of Stockport, and Kim and her husband Russ Goering of Ottumwa; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Beverly Schrum of Fairfield.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Wilma Morrison; and a brother, Kenneth Elmore.
