Donna Mae Schoonover, 92, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2019, in her apartment at Halcyon House, Washington.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at Jones Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service. Interment will be held at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Donna was born Aug. 7, 1927, in Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Ira and Ella (Jones) Durr. After moving to Washington, Iowa in 1939, she graduated from Washington High School in May, 1945. Donna was united in marriage to Ralph E. Schoonover on June 9, 1946, in Washington, Iowa.
Donna was a dedicated farmwife, mother and homemaker to her family. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting where she utilized her skills to make items for her home and gifts for family and friends.
Donna was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Washington where she was actively involved throughout the years. She was a Deacon, held multiple positions in Presbyterian Women, taught Sunday School for 14 years, and was a member of Fortnightly Club, Washington County Extension Homemakers and the Shiloh Woman's Club. During the years, she lived at Halcyon House, she served on boards and committees for the betterment of the Halcyon Community.
Donna is survived by son, Jonathan Schoonover of Washington, Iowa; son, Richard (Linda) Schoonover of Olathe, Kan.; son, Jeff (Joie) Schoonover of Platteville, Wis.; son, Doug (Diana) Schoonover of Discovery Bay, Calif.; and Dennis (Barbara) Schoonover; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Kurka, Laura (Ryan) Richardson, Bradley (Maggi) Schoonover, Ryan (Kaycee) Schoonover, Matthew (Nicole) Schoonover, Andrew Schoonover, David Schoonover, Adam Schoonover, Lisa Schoonover and Chad Schoonover; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Schoonover; great-granddaughter, Eleanor Schoonover; and brother, David Durr.
