Doris Alberta Nordyke

      Doris Alberta Nordyke, 95, of Washington, died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, in Brownlee Health Care Center at the United Presbyterian Home following a decline in health.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington with the Rev. Sue Meade officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will begin at noon Thursday in the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church in Washington.

      Mrs. Nordyke was born June 4, 1913 in Salem, the daughter of Edgar Herbert and Anna Jane (Bell) Matthews. She married Oscar Edwin "Bill" Nordyke on June 22, 1940 in the home of her sister, Maurine Mills.
