Doris C. Welcher

Doris C. Welcher, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5 at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, with a Christian Vigil service at 6 p.m. followed by visitation with family present until 8 p.m.

Survivors include two daughters, Diane Welcher of Des Moines and Cindy and her husband Mike Thomas of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Scott and his wife Lisa Welcher of Olympia, Wash.; three grandchildren; a brother, Lester and his wife Bernice Pomberg of West Point; and a sister, Mary and her husband Bert Featheringill of Fort Madison.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gertrude Vantiger.
