Doris DeVol

Doris DeVol, 77, of Burlington, died Thursday, Nov. 8, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Christ Episcopal Church. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Canon Patrick Genereux officiating. Her body has been cremated.

Doris was born Aug. 17, 1930 in New London, the daughter of Ira and Mildred Wilson Prickett. On July 13, 1952, she married Gene R. DeVol in Mt. Pleasant.

A graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, she was a homemaker. Mrs. DeVol was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and enjoyed crafts and crossword puzzles. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Denise O'Leary of Ankeny and Sandra Moyner and her husband Kenneth of St. Charles, Ill.; one son, Gene B. DeVol of St. Cloud, Minn.; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Her parents, daughter Wendy Sue Froehle, and brother Dale A. Prickett preceded her in death.
