Doris Marie Pool

Doris Marie Pool, 89, of Crawfordsville, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City from complications following surgery.

    Celebration of life services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the United Church of Crawfordsville with services conducted by the Rev. Nancy Oehler Love and Larry Fletcher. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Humeston Cemetery in Humeston. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church where the family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Memorials have been established for the United Church of Crawfordsville. The Jones Eden Funeral Home in Washington is handling the arrangements.

    Mrs. Pool was born July 4, 1921, on a farm northwest of Promise City, the daughter of Jim Ivan and Lela Mae (McMurray) Montgomery. She married Melvin Pool on May 3, 1946, in Oswego, Kan.
