Doris Ramsey, 91, of Keosauqua, Iowa, passed away Nov. 6, 2020, at her home. She was born May 17, 1929, in Hillsboro, Iowa, to Harry and Helen Hixon King. She married Vernie Harold Ramsey on June 11, 1950. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary. Doris and Vernie raised six children, Rita, Jim, Doyle, Carroll, Darrell and Grace. Doris was a beautician and a homemaker. She was also a 50-year member of DAR. She was known as loving and caring, she not only cared for her own children but also many other children in the Birmingham area.

She is survived by her husband, Vernie; six children, Rita (Ken) Carlson of Fairfield, Iowa, Jim (Toni) Ramsey of Donnellson, Iowa, Doyle (Karen) Ramsey of Des Moines, Iowa, Carroll (Lori) Ramsey of Eldridge, Iowa, Darrell Ramsey of Cody, Wyo., and Grace (Jerry) Kysar of Worland, Wyo.; 16 grandchildren, Kent, Kim, Danny, Josh, Mandy, Nicole, Andrea, Alyssa, Austin, Emily, Bailey, Malory, Jesse, Amy, Justin and Lisa; 31 great-grandchildren, and another one expected soon; and sister, Nannette Holcomb of Agency, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Otto Keck; son, Bruce Ramsey; great-grandson, Jordan Ramsey; great-granddaughter, Sarah Dane; three sisters, Joyce, Opal and Dulcy; and brother, David.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until the time of the service. Cremation will follow the service with inurnment at Kilbourne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bonaparte Baptist Church of Hospice Compassus.
