Doris Ruth Whitaker

      Doris Ruth Whitaker, 85, of rural Hillsboro, died at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua after a lengthy illness.

      A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hillsboro Baptist Church, with the Rev. Duane LaCock officiating. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery.

      Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where the family will be present from 4-5 p.m. and 6:30-8 p.m.

      Memorials to Hillsboro Baptist Church or Van Buren County Hospital may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 16021 Route W-46, Hillsboro 52630.

      Mrs. Whitaker was born July 10, 1923, in Hillsboro, the daughter of Alvah W. and Floy Helterbran Clark. She married William D. Whitaker Aug. 22, 1954, at Hillsboro Baptist Church.
