Dorothy A. Litton

      Dorothy A. Litton, 88, of Mt. Pleasant, died 7:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at the Glasgow Cemetery with the Rev. Joann Hary officiating. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at the Beatty Funeral Home. There will be no family visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.

      Mrs. Litton was born March 26, 1912, in Baltimore Township, the daughter of Perry and Lida Burke Mallams. She married Arthur B. Litton on Jan. 24, 1942, who preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 1977. She attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church north of Mt. Pleasant and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of people.

      Survivors include two sons, Walter A. and Darla Litton of Durant and Lyle E. Litton of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Betty L. Litton of Des Moines; and a brother, Walter B. Mallams of Winfield. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John and Glen Mallams, and a sister, Mary Jean Hatch.
