Dorothy Ashby

Dorothy I. Ashby, 85, of Burlington, died at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at Great River Medical Center's Klein Center.

      The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at the Chapel of Hass-Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington, with the Rev. Tyrone C. Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with family present from 1 to 2 p.m. A memorial has been established.

Survivors include four sons, Daryl Ashby, James Ashby and Melvin Ashby, all of Burlington, and Larry Ashby of Tucson, Ariz.; three daughters, Audrey Klinkerman of Denver, Linda Smith of Mt. Pleasant, and Donna Heland of Burlington; 21 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Riley of Columbus City.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a granddaughter.
