Dorothy C. Vickstrom
Dorothy C. Vickstrom, 87, of Burlington, died Sunday, Jan. 27, at Great River Medical Center.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1 in Lunning Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. Erick Swanson officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Forest Home Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Messiah Lutheran Church or Bethphage Mission of Axtel, Neb..
She was born July 3, 1920 in Bison, S.D., the daughter of Charley and Crete Brewster Finn. On June 22, 1941 she married Karl F. Vickstrom in Davenport.
A graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, she worked for Des Moines County Home Care. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Excelsior Circle of King's Daughters and Sons, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW, Royal Neighbors of America, Railroad Veterans N.A.R.V.E and Peacemakers Quilting Group of Messiah Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two sons, Dale Vickstrom and Dean Vickstrom, both of Burlington; three sisters, Aileen Koprucki of Bettendorf, Francis Messer of Keokuk and Crete Miller of Ottumwa; and four grandchildren.
Her husband, son Curtis Vickstrom, parents and two sisters Viola and Winifred preceded her in death.
