Dorothy E. Downey

Dorothy E. Downey, 74, formerly of Fairfield, died Friday, July 14, 2000, in Sun City, Ariz.

The funeral service is Tuesday, July 18, at the Buckeye Funeral Home in Buckeye, Ariz.

Mrs. Downey was born April 17, 1926, in Batavia to Ross and Nellie Roland Sylvester. She moved with her husband Andrew Downey to Arizona in 1971.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Van Dorin of Mt. Pleasant, Sharon Marshall and Nellie Madron of Buckeye, and Catherine Risner of Paragould, Ark.; four sons, Andrew of Mt. Sterling, Charles of Emorea, S.C., Ernest of Buckeye, and Curtis of Cottonwood, Ariz.; two brothers, Danny Sylvester of Burlington and Robert Sylvester of Florida; one sister, Mary Dean of Decatur, Ill.; 27 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Patricia; one sister, Dianne Sylvester, and two brothers, Kenneth and David Sylvester.
