KALONA ? Dorothy Ellen (Yoder) Miller, 87, of Kalona, died Saturday, June 11, 2016, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 15, at the Neal Borntrager residence at 5564 Eagle Avenue S.W. in rural Kalona. Burial will be in the Brenneman Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, June 13, and will continue all day Tuesday, at the Eddie J. Miller residence. The Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Miller was born June 24, 1928, in Kalona, the daughter of Ed G. and Anna Yoder. She married Eddie J. Miller on March 20, 1951.
In her youth she was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church and was a faithful member until her death.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Eddie; one daughter, Anna Marie (Mrs. Neal) Borntrager of Kalona; three sons, Nelson and wife Donna of Kalona, Alfred and wife Laura of Nappanee, Indiana, and Rodger and wife Lorena of Bourbon, Indiana; one son-in-law, Earl T. Miller of Windsor, Missouri; 27 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Chriss Yoder of Kalona, J. Ed Yoder of Goshen, Indiana, Marvin Yoder of Crofton, Kentucky, and Alton Yoder of Crofton, Kentucky; and one brother-in-law, Hermon Miller of Guthrie, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carol Miller; one infant son, Waldo James; one grandson; three brothers, Sylvanus Yoder, Thomas Yoder, and Lewis Yoder; and three sisters, Viola (Mrs. Jacob) Schlabach, Edna Yoder, and Lydia Anna (Mrs. Hermon) Miller.
