Dorothy Farmer

      WAYLAND-Dorothy Farmer, 85, of Wayland, died Monday, March 22, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      Funeral services have been set for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 26, at Wayland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Nancy Renfro officiating. Burial will be in Wayland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon on Thursday at the church, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Parkview Home or the Wayland Cemetery Association. Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland is assisting with the arrangements.

      Mrs. Farmer was born on March 14, 1919, in Brighton, to Charles Herman and Hattie Amelia (Shaffer) Kessel. On Sept. 4, 1937, she married LaVerne Thurston Farmer in Memphis, Mo.
