Dorothy M. Nicklin

Dorothy M. Nicklin, 85, formerly of rural Floris, died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.

A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Selma United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, where the family will be present 3-5 p.m.

Memorials to Selma United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 32143 155th St., Floris 52560.

Mrs. Nicklin was born June 6, 1926, in Waukegan, Ill., the daughter of Opal and Mabel Wiseman Talley. She married Wendell E. Nicklin Oct. 3, 1948, at her parents? home near Floris. He died Jan. 13, 2012.

Survivors include three sons, Michael Nicklin and wife Rebecca of Bozeman, Mont., William Nicklin and wife Linda of rural Floris and Daniel Nicklin of Des Moines; one daughter, Marcia Nicklin and husband David Stern of Italy; six grandchildren; one brother, Gene Talley of Akron, Ohio; and two sisters, Leona McClure of Floris and Connie Birdsall of Ankeny.
