Dorothy M. Watson
Dorothy May Long Watson, 85, of Cambridge, Idaho, died Nov. 24, 2007, at her home in Cambridge.
A funeral service was held Nov. 30 at Cambridge First Baptist Church. Burial was at Terrace Lawns Cemetery on Fairview Avenue in Meridian, Idaho. Thomas Funeral Home of Weiser, Idaho, was in charge of arrangements.
She was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Salem, the daughter of Jay and Luella Miller Long. On June 14, 1950, she married Don Watson in Portland, Ore.
A graduate of Salem High School, she completed teaching degrees in 1942 from Iowa Wesleyan College and in 1970 from Idaho State College. She taught her first year of school at Bonaparte, and later at Riggins, Paul and Cambridge in Idaho. She taught 26 years and retired in 1982. She loved music and was pianist for her church.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Eugene Watson and his wife Janet of Boise, Idaho and Warren Watson and his wife Peggy of Puyallup, Wash.; two sisters, Jean Brombaugh and her husband Robert of Mt. Pleasant and Liberta Taylor and her husband Conrad of Roseville, Ill.; a brother, Harold E. Long of Lockport, La.; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a niece and several nephews.
Her parents, sisters Erma, Vivian and Doris Ellen and brother Robert preceded her in death.
