Dorothy Marie Payne

MOUNT PLEASANT ? Dorothy Marie Payne, 86, of Salem, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at her home.

    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 7, at the Salem Friends Church with Pastor Tom Palmer officiating. Burial will be in the Salem South Cemetery. The family will greet friends at a visitation Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mount Pleasant. Memorials have been established to the Salem Friends Church for music and missions ministries.

    Mrs. Payne was born March 24, 1924, on the family farm seven miles south of Mount Pleasant, the daughter of Evans Dewey and Dorthea Marie (Hoyer) Pickard. She married Herbert Ellsworth Payne on March 24, 1944, at the Salem Friends Church.
