Dorothy Widmer, 89 of Washington, Iowa, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025, at the United Presbyterian Home, Washington, Iowa.

Dorothy was born on January 19, 1936, and grew up in Wayland, Iowa. On November 4, 1952, she married her sweetheart, Darwin Widmer and together they raised 4 children.

Dorothy loved the Lord Jesus as her Savior, her family, and friends. Dorothy enjoyed making crafts, traveling on their motorcycle, biking, puzzles and spending summers at the Lake of the Ozarks.

A celebration of Life will take place with her immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be designated to Compassus of Washington. Survivors include her children, Tommy (Glenda) of Iowa City, Sandy (Denny) Witthoft of Ainsworth, Jacque Beatty of Washington, and Greg (Jennifer) of Iowa City; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother Dick (Charlotte) Magdefrau; and a sister Betty Harris.
