Douglas K. Crone, 74, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Monday, Sept. 28, 2020 at his residence. Celebration of life services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Zickefoose officiating. Calling hours will begin at noon Friday, Oct. 2, at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will be private. A general memorial has been established. Doug was born May 20, 1946, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Doug and Jesse (Hoover) Crone. He attended school in Washington and graduated from high school in Iowa City. Doug served honorably in the United States Navy.

Doug worked at Oral B in Iowa City for 40 years. He enjoyed camping with his friends and playing cards.

He is survived by his son, Tony Crone and wife Jennifer of Washington, Iowa; grandchild, Taryn Crone; sister, Karma Hanson and husband Roger of Iowa City; brother, Allen Crone of Kansas City, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Kenneth, Jerry and Keith Crone, Kathleen Anderson and Karen Kleese.
