Dru Zackary Dickey, age 40, of Fremont, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at his home in Fremont. He was born on December 27, 1984, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Loren and Connie (Snakenberg) Dickey. He attended Pekin High School and graduated with the Class of 2003.

Dru drove a truck for most of his working life, including for Marcus Durflinger Trucking for many years. Dru’s life revolved around trucks, whether he was working on trucks, attending shows or doing long hauls.

Dru is survived by his daughter: Alexis Dickey of What Cheer; siblings, Candice (Leslie) Greiner of Keota, Joni (Robert) Sandburg of Washington and Scott (Lori) Dickey of Hedrick; his nieces and nephews, Ashley Greiner, Trenton (Madison) Greiner, Jillian (Kenyon) Heisdorffer, Lane (Katie) Sandburg, Seth (Kellie Jo) Dickey and Holly (Devin) Dickey; several great-nieces and -nephews and a special friend, Bethany Brain.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturda,y October 18, 2025, at 5 pm in the Carl Craft Civic Center, Hedrick, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family at this time for future designation to a memorial in his name.
