Duane Robert Yoder

      KALONA - Duane Robert Yoder, 87, of Kalona died Tuesday, March 6, 2007 in Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, of cancer.

      Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9 in the East Union Mennonite Church in rural Kalona with the Rev. Jay Miller officiating. Burial will be in East Union Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today in the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for East Union Mennonite Church and Pleasantview Home.

      Mr. Yoder was born Sept. 26, 1919 in Washington County near Kalona, the son of Lewis and Arvilla (Gingerich) Yoder. He married Jeanette Miller on June 22, 1945 in the First Congregational Church in Shiocton, Wis.
