DuWayne Pratt

DuWayne Robert ?Sonny? ?The Catfish Man? Pratt, 80, of Washington, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, in the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City following a monthlong illness.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. A general memorial fund has been established. The Beatty Funeral Home in Washington is handling arrangements.

Mr. Pratt was born Dec. 7, 1935, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, the son of Tiny and Irene (Fish) Pratt. He married Rosemary Hole on June 16, 1965.

He worked in many jobs and moved to Iowa from Minnesota in 1998. He enjoyed fishing, bingo, playing cards, watching NASCAR and dog shows, and visiting with neighbors and friends. He would do anything to help someone in need.

Surviving are one son, Doug Pratt and wife Poe of Kalona; three grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Vest and husband John of Keota; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rosemary; one son, Jimmy Pratt; one daughter, Roberta Buetwon; three sisters, Phylis Pratt, Janice Gullickson, and Delores Scheer; and one brother, Billy Pratt.
