Dwain D. Johnson October 27, 1927 - July 23, 2005

      Dwain David Johnson, 77, of Washington, died Saturday, July 23, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      The funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. today at Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. John Monger officiating. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Reformed Presbyterian Church or the Fountain in Central Park.

      Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cynthia Hanshaw of Brighton; three sons, David and his wife Susan Johnson of Dahlgren, Ill., Ben and his wife Pam Johnson of Mt. Union, and Chester and his wife Kim of Washington; two brothers, Jerry and his wife Dorothy Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Lloyd and his wife Winnie Munson of Silver City; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson.
