Emmer Guy Enke, 95, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, March 30, at the Ft. Madison Health Center.
A visitation and luncheon for family and friends will begin at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Pat Youngquist officiating. Burial will be at the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery.

He was born Nov. 30, 1912, in rural Mt. Union, the son of Emmer and Cora Chandlee Enke. On Sept. 15, 1934, he married Stella Virginia Carden in Washington.
A graduate of Mt. Union High School, he worked as a farmer living in Columbus Junction before moving to Mt. Pleasant, where he was a lathe operator for Keith Garretson.
He was a member of Marsh Methodist Church and the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau.
He is survived by two sons, Guy Enke of Missoula, Mont. and Lloyd Enke and his wife Sherri of Ft. Madison; one daughter, Janice Buser and her husband Lamoyne of Conesville; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
His parents, wife, three brothers and two great-grandchildren preceded him in death.
