E. Jean Fritz

      E. Jean Fritz, age 77, of Washington, Iowa died Saturday June 16th at Windmill Manor in Coralville following complications of cancer.

      Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10:30 am Friday at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Ed O'Melia officiating. Visitation will begin noon Thursday at the Jones Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 Thursday evening. Prayer services will be held 7:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. Memorials have been established with Iowa City Hospice.       Jean was born February 21, 1930 near West Chester, Iowa the daughter of William Earl and Ethel Leota (Caldwell) Swift. She graduated from Washington High School in 1948 and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. She later received her Masters Degree from the University of Iowa. On November 25, 1948 Jean was united in marriage to Alfred J. Fritz in Washington, Iowa.
