E. Rosaleen Starr, 85, of Richland, died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 25, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a brief illness.
The funeral is set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating.
Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery. Open visitation will begin after 4 p.m. Wednesday, with family present from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Memorials have been established to the Richland Volunteer First Responders or the Richland Volunteer Fire Department.
Mrs. Starr was born Dec. 18, 1920, near Richland, the daughter of Harry Luther and Laura Edith Singleton McClure. She married Richard Starr July 12, 1938, in Richland.
She graduated from Richland High School in 1938. She was a housewife and lived in the Richland area all of her life.
She was a member of a neighborhood card club for many years.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Dale Starr and wife Carol of Richland; two daughters, Janet Andeway and husband Richard of Ollie and Katherine Roop of Sigourney; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Thomas of Richland and Marylyn Jackson of Winter Haven, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lawrence "Bud" McClure and John McClure; and one infant sister.
