Earnest Gene Beemblossom May 29, 1934 - December 9, 2003

Earnest Gene Beemblossom, 69, of Washington, died on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003, at Washington County Hospital in Washington, following a sudden illness.

      The funeral service was at 10:30 a.m. today at the United Methodist Church in Washington, with the Rev. Mark Young officiating. Burial was in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Memorials have been established to the Washington High School Scholarship Fund or the American Heart Association. Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington is in charge of arrangements.

      Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Veta and her husband Mark Thode, and Jean and her husband Jim Knowles, all of Washington; four grandchildren; a brother, John and his wife Charlotte of Washington; a sister, Maxine and her husband Verlon Metzger of Corydon; and his mother-in-law, Ruth Ahrens of Washington.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Merle; three brothers, Vernon, Donald and Max; and a sister, Kate.
