Edith J. Ricks September 30, 1926 - November 11, 2003

Edith June Ricks, 77, of Brighton died at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003 at the Washington County Hospital following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15 at the Brighton United Church with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery near Wayland. Open visitation at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 14 with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Brighton Volunteer First Responders and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 401 West Fountain St. Brighton, IA 52540.

      Survivors include her husband, two children: Joe and his wife Vickie Ricks of Richmond, Ind. and Lani Kay and her husband Stanley Meader of Washington, five grandsons, eight great grandchildren, three sisters: Oletha Waterhouse of Washington, Jean Dunbar of Brighton and Darlene Reighard of Springfield, Mo., two brothers: Gail Zickefoose and Les Zickefoose both of Brighton.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant granddaughters and one brother Leonard Zickefoose.
