Edith P. Garrels

      FREMONT-Edith P. Garrels, 94, of Wayland, died Monday, March 29, 2004, at Parkview Home in Wayland.

      Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 2, at Packwood Christian Church in Packwood, with the Rev. Jane I. Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Friday, at the church, with family present. Memorials may be directed to Parkview Home in Wayland or to Packwood Christian Church. Fremont Funeral Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.

      Mrs. Garrels was born on July 24, 1909, near Pekin, to John Elbert and Bessie Belle (Hayes) Zepp. She married Cecil C. Garrels on May 30, 1932, in Pekin.
