Edith Whiting

      Edith Whiting, 101, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 7:55 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2002, at Pleasant Manor Care Center.

      A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 18 at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Kelly, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Dr. Larry Mitchell, former pastor of First Presbyterian Church, and the Rev. Robert Midgley, retired pastor of Second Congregational Church in Rockford, Ill., officiating. A private family burial service will precede the memorial service at Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, at the Weir Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with family and close friends present from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials have been established to the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant or the Second Congregational Church of Rockford.
