Edna M. Newman February 6, 1921 - February 16, 2004

Edna Mae Newman, 83, of Hamilton, Ill., died at 7:05 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at Mercer County Hospital Hospice in Aledo, Ill.

      The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20 at Lamporte Funeral Home in Hamilton. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton. Visitation will be from noon to the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established for the Edna Mae Newman Scholarship Fund.

Survivors include a daughter, Helen Marshall of Aledo; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Huebetry of Lomax, Ill.; and four brothers, James Jackson of New London, Dillworth Jackson and Ora Jackson, both of Burlington, and Marion Jackson of Longview, Texas.

      In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, three brothers and an infant daughter.
