Edward 'Bud' C. Schantz

      Edward "Bud" C. Schantz, 81, of Eldorado Springs, Mo., formerly of the Wayland area, died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at the Monett Health Center in Monett, Mo.

      A Funeral Service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2005, at Peterson Funeral Home in Aurora, Mo. Burial was in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Mo.; with full military honors.

      Mr. Schantz was born on February 12, 1924, near Merrimac, southwest of Wayland, the son of Edward R. and Neoma (Christner) Schantz. He married Gladys Redman on Dec. 5, 1945. He was a U. S. Army veteran, a carpenter and a farmer.

      Survivors include his wife; two sons, Edward Schantz and wife Micky of Fayetteville, N.C., and Joel and wife Debbie Schantz of Bend, Ore.; three daughters, Connie Shoemaker and husband Gary of Aurora, Mo., Neoma Kreuter of Upland, Calif., and Debbie and husband Jeff Sinkula of Green Bay, Wisc.; three sisters, Francis Custer of Wayland, Fannie VanSant of Wayland, and Esther Seagren of Dixon, Ill.; and ten grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents.
