Edward Elmer Thomas

      COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Edward Elmer Thomas, 92, of Columbus Junction, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction, with the Rev. Dave Stouffer officiating and the Rev. Jim Edward assisting. Burial will be in the Cambrian Cemetery. Following committal services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Masonic Lodge. Visitation will be this evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Masonic service at 8 p.m. A general memorial has been established.

      Mr. Thomas was born July 29, 1913, in Aberdeen, S.D., to Hugh and Jenette (Hughes) Thomas. He married Mida L. Lock on Feb. 18, 1938, in Morning Sun. She preceded him in death in 1947. He marred Lynette Patten on July 25, 1957 in Jacksonville, Fla. She preceded him in death in 2001.
