Edward McAdam, of Victor, IA died on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Brooklyn Community Estates, Brooklyn, IA.
Ed was born on the family farm in Victor, Iowa, where he spent much of his life contributing to the community he loved.
A graduate of Victor High School, Class of 1953, Ed began his professional journey at Amana Refrigeration. He later found his lifelong calling at Farmers Savings Bank, where he served as a teller and loan officer for over 60 years. His dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression on generations of customers and colleagues alike.
Ed’s commitment extended far beyond his career. Deeply rooted in the town of Victor, he was known for his involvement in community events, especially the Victor Old Fashion Christmas celebration, where he delighted children and families by dressing up as Santa Claus. His generous spirit and joyful presence made him a cherished figure during the holiday season and throughout the year.
A man of many interests, Ed had a passion for collecting model trains and cars. He also enjoyed playing golf at Brooklyn Victor Country Club and skiing at Fun Valley and ski trips to Colorado, often spending time outdoors or cheering from the sidelines at his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. Farming remained close to his heart; he worked his family’s century farm for many years and took great pride in restoring tractors.
Faith played a central role in Ed’s life. A devoted member of Victor Baptist Church, he taught Awana and Sunday School classes and was actively involved in church activities. His guidance and kindness touched many lives within the congregation.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Margery; daughter, Kelley (Bud) Cox; grandchildren Jenn Cox-Bullers and Krista Cox (Nate Hamby); and great-grandchildren Jacksyn, Olivia, and Maddox Bullers, as well as Hazel and Kai Hamby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Lois McAdam, and his brother Don McAdam.
Visitation hours were held at 1:00 PM with family present from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at Smith Funeral Home, Victor, IA. A private family committal service will be held at Victor Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family for later designation.
