Edward Paul "Ed" Bean, age 82, of Clearwater, Florida, formerly of Washington, Iowa, died Monday, November 30, 2020, at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida.
Private family services will be held at a later dat. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Paws and More Animal Shelter in Washington, Iowa. Ed was born July 20, 1938, in Clarinda, Iowa, the son of Harold and Mildred (Lehman) Bean. He graduated from Clarinda High School in 1957 and attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City Ed graduated from the University of Iowa School of Pharmacy in 1964. He was united in marriage to Linda Shutt on October 19. 1958, in Red Oak, Iowa.
Ed worked as a Laboratory Technician at the Washington County Hospital while going to school at the University. Along with his wife Linda, Ed owned and operated Bean's Pharmacy in Washington from 1976 until 1998. He continued to work at Bean's Pharmacy until his retirement in 2018. Ed enjoyed spending time with his dog, Aussie; wintering in Florida, traveling domestically and abroad, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Sports fan. Ed recently moved to the Clearwater, Florida area. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Andrea Dresmann of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Meredith Vileta and husband Travis of Toddville, Iowa; son Aaron Bean of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren: Samantha, Drew and Max Dresmann; and Kira Ropp; as well as three sisters: Sally Beaudet and husband Gary of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Betty Leeson of Des Moines, Iowa; Nancy Bright and husband Steve of Chariton, Iowa; and his special friend, Cathie Reed of Clearwater, Florida.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda, in 2014; and one sister, Peggy Edwards.
