Edwin D. Slabach

    KALONA ? Edwin D. Slabach, 94, of Kalona, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church in Kalona with the Rev. John King, the Rev. Floyd Helmuth and the Rev. Floyd Yutzy officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Sunnyside Conservative Mennonite Church Mission Program.

    Mr. Slabach was born Nov. 12, 1916, in Kokomo, Ind., the son of David and Emma (Yoder) Slabach. He married Nona Miller on Feb. 17, 1938, in Kokomo, Ind.
