Edwin Roth

HESSTON, Kan. ? Edwin Roth, 90, of Hesston, Kansas, died Wednesday, March 24, 2017, in the Schowalter Villa nursing home in Hesston, Kansas.

Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, May 29, at Schowalter Villa Chapel in Hesston. Memorials may be made to Mennonite Central Committee in care of Miller-Ott Funeral Home, 107 S. Lancaster, P.O. Box 32, Hesston, KS 67062.

Mr. Roth was born April 20, 1927, in rural Wayland, the son of Ben R. and Mary (Graber) Roth. He married Marianna M. Gerig on Sept. 14, 1957, at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland.

He attended Douglas Country School near Wayland. He worked as a farmer, electrician, mobile home industry and oil field. He was a member of Carlsbad Mennonite Church. In 2005 he moved to Schowalter Villa in Hesston, Kansas, and was a member of Hesston Mennonite Church.

Surviving are one sister, Lucille Swartzendruber of Hesston, Kansas; one son, Ted Roth of Santa Fe, New Mexico; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marianna Gerig Roth; one son, Tim Roth; his parents; six brothers; and two sisters.
