Edwin Swartzendruber October 10, 1924 - June 27, 2003

Edwin Dale Swartzendruber, 78, of Hesston, Kan., formerly of Olds, died June 27, 2003. at Schowalter Villa in Hesston, Kan., where he had been a patient since May.

      The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1, at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in Wayland, with the Revs. Dean Swartzendruber and Robert Hartzler officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation with family will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church fellowship hall A memorial has been established. Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel of Mt. Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.

      He is survived by his wife Lucille; three daughters: Connie Sue and her husband David E. Ganger of Elkhart, Ind., Donna Jean and her husband Richard Swartzendruber of Wellman, Debra Ann and her husband Clark E. Roth of Hesston; and one sister, Mary Vaughn Widmer of Goshen, New York. He also has seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.
