Effie Pearl Miller, 90, of

the Trenton Community, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020, at Sunny Brook Assisted Living

Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Effie was born on November 17, 1929, in Henry County, Iowa, the daughter

of Theodore and Pearl (Gray) Coleman. On December 11, 1950, she was united in marriage to Glen Miller at

the Faith Lutheran Church

in Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, quilting and reading her Bible Effie and Glen would go to livestock auctions to buy Charolais cattle. She volunteered at Tolson Community Action in Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed spending time with her sweetie pie dog Jack. She was a member of the Trenton United Methodist Church in Trenton.

Effie is survived by her husband Glen of 69 years; her children, Rhonda (Robert D.) Gholson of Mt. Pleasant, Jackie (Jim) Rotenburger of Trenton, Diana (Ron) Miller of Trenton, Carol (Charles) Swailes of Mt. Pleasant and Brad (Kris) Miller of Mt. Pleasant; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and her special friend, Sandy Paul of rural Mt. Pleasant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and four brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at the Trenton United Methodist Church in Trenton with Rev. Jeffrey McPheron officiating. Those who are attending the service are asked to use a mask. Private family burial will be held in the White Oak Cemetery north of Rome. Friends may call after 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The family will not be present. Memorials may be directed to the White Oak Cemetery or to the Trenton United Methodist Church in her memory.
