Eileen K. Roth, 80, of Wayland, Iowa died Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in Clinton, Mo.

Memorial services will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at 10 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to service at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church, Wayland, Iowa where she was an active member. A private family graveside service will be at Bethel Mennonite Church Cemetery, Wayland, Iowa at a later date.

Eileen asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crooked Creek Christian Camp or Sugar Creek Mennonite Church for Mennonite Women and can be mailed to the funeral home at 314 West Jefferson, Clinton, MO.

Eileen Roth was born March 6, 1937, in Elkhart, Ind., daughter of Joseph R. and Nellie (Nusbaum) Buzzard. Eileen married Royce B. Roth of Wayland, Iowa on March 24, 1956 in Elkhart, Ind.

Eileen loved Jesus, music, books and quilts. She owned and operated Provident Bookstore and Olive Branch Books in Iowa City, Iowa before her retirement. Over the years, they lived in Glenwood Springs, Colo., Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Washington, Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, Crawfordsville, Iowa, and Wayland, Iowa. In retirement, they spent winters in Sarasota, Fla.

Eileen is survived by three children, Patty Roth Bancroft (Roger), Montrose, Mo., Jerry Roth (Joyce), Crawfordsville, Iowa and Jay Roth (Margie), Lakewood, Colo.; one brother, Gerald Buzzard (Nina), Greensburg, Pa.; two brothers-in-law, Willard E. (Alice) Roth, Goshen, Ind. and Larry D. (Mary Lou) Roth, Wayland, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Karen Watson (Gordon), Washington, Iowa and Janice Lindner (Roger), Keokuk, Iowa. She had 10 grandchildren: Michelle Green (Ben), Shawn Custer (Andrea), Dawn Fisher (Steve), Janet Belton (Jeffrey), JR Roth (Kenna), Jenny Moore (Tom), Adam Roth (Jessi), Shaena Roth, Stacy Thjorne (Christalyn), and Rachel Lighthouse; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Roth on October 17, 2017; her parents; and one son-in-law, Steve Custer.
