Elaine M. Ingwersen, 89, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at Park Place Elder Living Center in Mount Pleasant.

Elaine was born Nov. 23, 1931, in Henry County, the daughter of Ezra and Lorena (Boden) Martin. She was united in marriage to Carl Ingwersen on Aug. 16, 1966, in Trenton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2011. Elaine worked in the office of the superintendent of Mount Pleasant Community School and later for the Henry County auditor, from where she retired after 40 years. She was a member of the Trenton Missionary Church.

She is survived by her children, Ted (Terri) Ingwersen of Central City, Tim (Amanda) Ingwersen of Brooklyn, Deb (Dan) Martin of Phoenix, Ariz., and Kendall Ingwersen of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Carman (Leon) Blosser of Arizona.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Linda Hudson; a son-in-law, Randy Hudson; a daughter-in-law, Lorraine Ingwersen; two sisters, Hazel Hudson and Joy Stone; one brother, Don Martin; and her son-in-law, Randy Hudson.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at White Oak Cemetery with Pastor David Forrester officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Alzheimer'sresearch in her memory. Those wishing to go to the cemetery may meet at Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant at 1:30 p.m.
