Eleanor Jane Cahoon Almond Cammack, 90, of Ankeny, died Friday, Sept. 21, at her daughter's home.
Her body was cremated. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Orchard Place in Des Moines.
Eleanor was born Aug. 23, 1917 in Tama, the daughter of Vernon Leroy and Mildred Ames Cahoon. She married Roy Merle Almond on May 3, 1942. He preceded her in death. She later married Elbert "Pete" Cammack and moved to Tallahassee, Fla. Following his death, she moved to Ankeny.
She graduated from Salem High School and attended Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant to become a teacher. She was later employed by R.E.C in Mt. Pleasant until her retirement.
She is survived by one daughter, Judith Anne McCue of Ankeny, two grandchildren, Matthew McCue of Ames, Amanda McCue of Ankeny, and by several stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
