Eleanor Ruth Hamiel Van Nostrand

Eleanor Ruth Hamiel Van Nostrand, 83, of Cantril, died at 11:55 a.m. Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Robert G. Farr officiating. A graveside service and interment will be at approximately 3 p.m. Monday in Leon Cemetery in Leon, with the Rev. J. R. Wheeler officiating.

Open visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where family visitation will be from 9-10:30 a.m. Monday.

Memorials to Cantril Grass Roots Association may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 201 E. Hempstead Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. Van Nostrand was born June 27, 1925, in Tipton, the daughter of Marion C. and Thelma E. Davis Hamiel. She married Robert D. Van Nostrand Sept. 12, 1947, in Tipton. He died Feb. 19, 1968.
