Eli A. Swartzentruber

KALONA ? Eli A. Swartzentruber, 85, of Pleasantview Home in Kalona, died Friday, March 20, 2009, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, of congestive heart failure.

    Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 23, at Sunnyside Mennonite Church in Kalona with the Rev. John King, the Rev. Floyd Helmuth and the Rev. Floyd Yutzy officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in rural Kalona.  Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church.  A general memorial fund has been established.  Peterseim Funeral Service in Kalona is in charge of the arrangements.

    Mr. Swartzentruber was born Feb. 17, 1924, in Fredericksburg , Ohio, the son of Andy S. and Amanda (Wengerd) Swartzentruber.  He married Katie Ann Schrock on July 3, 1949, at Fairview Mennonite Church in Kalona.
