Elizabeth (Betty) J. Cherryholmes

      DENTON, Texas - Elizabeth (Betty) J. Cherryholmes, 71, of Denton, formerly of Washington, Iowa, died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 in hr daughter's residence following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 in St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Ed O'Melia officiating. Interment will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Friday in the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Red Brick School Renovation Project.

      Mrs. Cherryholmes was born Feb. 2, 1935 in Washington, the daughter of Walter Hubert and Evelyn Loraine (Wallace) Bruty. She married Gerald Cherryholmes.
