Elizabeth 'Betty' Mary Soukup
KALONA - Elizabeth "Betty" Mary Soukup, 91, of Kalona, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008, in the Pleasantview Home in Kalona following a long illness.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, in the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona with Mr. Kyle Soukup officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in rural Ainsworth. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Iowa City Hospice.
Mrs. Soukup was born Jan. 20, 1916, in rural Washington County near Ainsworth, the daughter of Walter and Mabel (Hendrickson) Owen. She married Melvin Soukup on Nov. 25, 1936.
