Elizabeth Donna Manning, 16, of Brighton, died Saturday, Oct. 20, in a farm-related accident.
Visitation will begin at noon Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Behner Funeral Home, where the family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Fairfield High School gymnasium, with pastor Wayne Wilken officiating. Pastor Marvin Robeck will offer the reading. A private family service will be held afterward at Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville. Burial will follow at Hope Lutheran Cemetery.
The family requests that no flowers be sent and asks that memorials instead be made to a scholarship fund for Elizabeth's younger sisters, Emily and Amber Manning. Cards and memorials may be sent to 3025 125th Street, Brighton, IA, 52540.
Elizabeth was born March 2, 1991 in Iowa City, the daughter of Craig and Mary Schantz Manning. A member of 4-H Round Prairie Echoes and the FFA, she worked at Fairfield's Community Child Care Center. She was a member of Fairfield's girls cross country team and the Raymond's sponsored A.S.A. softball team, and was Sweet Sixteen runner-up in the 2007 Old Threshers Runion.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville, and spent the summer of 2006 involved in mission work around the state with the Children Evangelism Fellowship.
She is survived by her parents and younger sisters; her maternal grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
